Frayssinet (le Gourdonnais), is a pretty little rural village set in an agricultural heartland bordered by the River Lot (to the South) and the River Dordogne (to the North) and provides an ever changing backdrop of fruit trees, forestry, sunflowers, cereals, melons, vines, sheep and cattle. Frayssinet village has a shop for essential groceries and there is also a village bar/restaurant and petrol station in the vicinity.  For your main shopping, the nearest town providing all facilities (and 4 supermarkets) is a pleasant 20 minute drive away at Gourdon – the capital of the Bouriane region.  The larger towns of Souillac and Cahors (the region capital) are only 30 minutes away.  To the east is the Causses de Quercy National Park, and to the south east is the River Cele valley.
